Our Story
From an early age, Eclipse Excavation president Mike McClosky has loved any opportunity to dig. Although he excelled in the sandbox, eventually he traded his Tonka trucks in for real heavy machinery and became an expert in site management, construction and excavation as a member of his family’s construction company, McCloskey Construction.
After more than 15 years learning the trade from his father and mentors, Mike was ready to launch a business of his own. In March 2021, Eclipse Excavation was born.
Over the years Mike has developed a reputation for expediency and top-notch service as a construction site manager. He believes in getting the job done right, and done quickly. Since founding, Mike has grown his budding enterprise into a full-service excavation powerhouse with access to state-of-the-art equipment (which he calls his babies) and engineering expertise.
Mike believes in treating clients and his employees like family and keeps his client’s best interests top of mind when guiding them through the first stages of site development.
Along with this team, Mike has experience in maintaining necessary compliance with the Department of Ecology, city planning departments and FEMA. He has become an expert in navigating special considerations specific to local, state and federal regulations.

Michael Mccloskey
President
Mike has more than 15 years of experience as a construction project manager and as a heavy machinery operator. He founded Eclipse Excavation out of a life-long love of excavation. He is known to be a “Jack of All Trades” and values time and efficiency in his work. His approach to every job is to “have fun and get it done.” When not in the office or at a site, you are likely to find him on the lake or grilling something for a family gathering.
Allison McCloskey
Business Manager
Allison manages the day-to-day business operations for Eclipse Excavation including estimating, invoicing and customer relations. When not working as a business manager, Allison uses her skills as a celebrated speech pathologist and mother of two.
